Prescription Refills

As a service to our patients seen in Cardiovascular Medicine Clinic, refills may be requested through the Medicine Specialty Clinic prescription refill line.  This service is available for patients who will run out of medication before the next scheduled Cardiology Clinic appointment.   Please call 573-882-8788, select option 2.  When you call for a refill, please have name, dosage, and frequency of the medicine as well as your pharmacy name/phone number available.  Your pharmacy may FAX a request directly to the refill nurse at 573-884-1751.

Questions about your cardiovascular problem:

If you have non-emergent questions about your cardiovascular problem or about labs or tests performed at UMHC Cardiovascular Medicine Clinic, please call the Cardiovascular Medicine clinic nurse at 573-882-8788.  A clinic nurse is available between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to help answer your questions and direct your call to your cardiologist if you need to speak to your physician.   After clinic hours, if you have an urgent need to speak with a cardiologist, call the University Hospital operator at 573-882-4141 and ask for the Cardiovascular Medicine Consult physician on-call.  Answers to general questions about cardiovascular diseases or tests and procedures used to diagnose and treat cardiovascular diseases may be found on the informational links from the American Heart Association below.

Billing and Insurance

Patients must bring their insurance card to each clinic visit.  Care received from physicians and the hospital during clinic visits will be billed by University Physicians.  Inpatient hospital charges will be billed by University Hospital.  As a courtesy to our patients, we will file insurance claims for physician and hospital services if we have accurate and complete insurance information.  We are a participating provider with Medicare and accept assignment on all Medicare claims.  We also accept Medicaid patients.  Those patients wanting to pay at the time of the visit should inform clinic staff at the beginning of their visit.  The clinic accepts cash, checks, and VISA or MasterCard.  Staff members are happy to help patients set up payment plans.
